Mikey Maags is back in the mix for MFB, with episode 17 of the site staple, 1st & 15th. Seventeen is a special, two part edition of the mix; Part One is a techno mix and Part Two is a two hour block of old school 138 trance. We're glad to have Maags back in the mix after some technical difficulties this past week. When asked to describe the two mixes, Maags had this to say, "fucking finally got my laptop back." Clearly Mike is a little off recently, he must be too excited for this Friday when he will be spinning alongside MFB favorites B3RAO and Convoi as part of Beandream Productions presents: BINARY, at Wonder Bar in Allston, MA. The Facebook event page can be found here and tickets can be purchased here. Beandream throws great parties, so definitely check it out if you are in the Boston area this Friday.
Part Two: 138 or Die
Play them loud and enjoy. Hope to see you all Friday!
Here we have a fun melbourne bounce bootleg from Jason Risk and DJ Forte of DJ Kool's 90's classic, "Let Me Clear My Throat". There's not much to say about this one, its just fun track to diddle around with.
The Fool's Gold Clubhouse series has given us some serious funky beats from the likes of Solidisco, Dirty Monkey, Steve Starks just to name a few. 'Funk It' from Gregori Klosman is no different. With some sexy horn work, piano melody and synths (yes, synths!), this track will get any dance floor moving.
The day is upon us MFBNation. Episode 16 of 1st & 15th with Mikey Maags is here. Maags is bringing the fire with one and isn't messing around, "bring helmets and mouth guards caz shit is gonna get EXTREMELY serious." Artists in the mix include but are not limited to: Bart Claessen, Boyan & Boyer, Beltek, Leezy, Rabbit Killer, and Mercer. Mikey Maags will be playing at Rise, tomorrow October 26th, alongside Glowkids & Fuse, Commerce, Kaidro, Nemectro & Comatose, and Alpha-X as part of the Glow Boston event presented by Illumina Live. Check out the Facebook event page here and get your tickets while you still can here.
Play it loud and enjoy. Hopefully see you all tomorrow.
What is up MFBNation? Halloween is nearly upon us and what better way to celebrate the parades of sluts and mounds of candy than a Dickay From The Block featuring a block of tracks Halloween themed! I'm sure there will be more Halloweeny release in the next week, until then here are some of my personal favorite. Side note, truth be told, I've never been a huge fan of Halloween. Don't get me wrong, I have candy and girls in cat costumes, there's just something about Halloween that I always found annoying as an adult. Anyway, enough of my soapbox. Today I'm going to feature some boo-tastic tracks from Albin Myers, DSK CHK, Omnitica and seven spooky and evil tracks from Whiiite's Halloween pack last year .
This first track from Albin Myers was released a few years ago as a free download. It's still an awesome Halloween play, with the classic creepy piano from the film Halloween.
The next track from DSK CHK is not exactly a Halloween themed song per say, but it has an awesome vibe, menacing horn play and the title is 'Horns Of The Devil'. You can't go wrong.
This track from Omnitica has all your classic Halloween noises mixed a fast, dubstepping beat. Its just a really fun song for holiday.
Finally, we have a batch of seven Halloween themed tracks from Hollywood producer Whiiite's self titled Whiite Presents Halloween free download pack. With samples from classic films Child's Play, Psycho, Halloween and others, these are the perfect play for any Halloween set or party.
Massachusetts based producers Voltran & Cheatcode have released their first collaboration with the track 'All I Know'. This record has 90s styles, with a heavy bass down beat, as well as some beautiful piano work. 'All I Know' is a free download so go and grab this one!
San Francisco duo Chris Harnett and David Carvalho, otherwise known as WhiteNoize, have been climbing the ranks recently, already having a Beatport #1 under there belt with their track 'Insecure' as well as numberous other solid recordings. Their latest track, 'Be So Nice' is a throwback to the 80s. Inspired by Madonna's 'Holiday', WhiteNoize uses the "be so nice" vocal snipet and an uptempo beat to give us and old fashion dancefloor sensation. This is sure to be a club hit.
In lieu of the October 22nd release date of the remixed version of Donna Summer's Love to Love You Donna, artists have already began to post their remixed tracks on Soundcloud. Laidback Luke currently wins with his dub remix of the classic "MacArthur Park." Full review of the album coming later this week. Stay tuned, MFBNation!
Hello MFBNation, today we showcase a Solidisco remix of the 1981 classic Aurra song, "Make Up Your Mind," with their typical funk and soul. The boys from Buffalo take the track and bring it into the big room while still maintaining the retro feel. "Make Up Your Mind" is the second track of their upcoming Ultra EP. Go and get it.
